10/30/2020 Mac Crossover Python
Hi, I have a full SSD late 2015 iMac 5k 4ghz i7 w/4G AMD Radeon card, lots of ram.
I have a couple programs that have Crossover as a built-in component, both of which didn't work after upgrade.
AAPL Moving Average Crossover Performance from 1990-01-01 to 2002-01-01. As can be seen the strategy loses money over the period, with five round-trip trades. This is not surprising given the behaviour of AAPL over the period, which was on a slight downward trend, followed by a significant upsurge beginning in 1998. Click the Download Free Trial button above and get a 14-day, fully-functional trial of CrossOver. After you've downloaded CrossOver check out our YouTube tutorial video to the left, or visit the CrossOver Mac walkthrough for specific steps. We have improved installation compatibility with recent Linux distributions and also taken the step of upgrading CrossOver to rely on Python 3. Mac customers with active support entitlements will be upgraded to CrossOver 19 the next time they launch CrossOver.
The original error was: 'Crossover is unable to initialize a critical component. Failed to import cxutils module into Python. See console for errors. The program will now exit.'
I found the fix for the RootsMagic7 app on their website, works first time and also stays after rebooting:
First, MAKE SURE, you have the proper backup for any data or program key so you can reinstall fresh.
Click on Finder
Mac Crossover Games
On top of monitor bar click 'go'
Pick 'go to folder'
Enter '~Library/Application Support'
Find file for your program, send to trash
Go back to 'go to folder'
Enter '~Library/Preferences'
Find file for your program, send to trash
Go to the Finder window > applications > find the app, send to trash
![]()
If it's in your dock or floating icon screen, send to trash
erase cookies, cache, etc.
Ok, reinstall software, re-add any data and it should work even after rebooting.
Please note that this only worked for my second problem app (Family Tree Builder by MyHeritage) until I rebooted. Then it showed the same error code.
![]()
I am reading in various places it has something to do with APFS files, but not a geek 😟
SO, my question is this: is there something else I can do for this second app to make it 'stay good' ?
Thank you, Robin.
